‘GRONK’

14 - 16 Feb 2025
Warehouse Studio Exhibition, Fyshwick ACT

GRONK was the third solo exhibition by artist Thom Crowhurst. The exhibition explored his inner psyche, and examined the shadow self through the creative process.

"At 7pm on Valentine's Day (FRIDAY, 14th Feb) I will be opening my warehouse studio to the public for my 3rd solo exhibition GRONK. This exhibition will showcase much of the work I have produced in the space over the past year, as well as some never before seen pieces I've been saving for this show.

From 9pm the space will be transformed into a warehouse party. Being located in the deep industrial bowels of FYSHWICK (Ngambri/Canberra) will provide the perfect backdrop to whatever madness unfolds.”

Q: “How did your exhibition go recently?”

A: “Unreal. My solo exhibition GRONK on the 14th of Feb 2025 was by far the biggest exhibition of my career and showcased 52 works produced over 2024 with a few I made while on residency in Glasgow in 2023.

I had zero institutional backing or grant funding, zero gallery representation and access to very limited resources. On top of that, my guerrilla advertising campaign basically consisted of around 1000 stickers, 100 posters and a whole lotta word-of-mouth. Still, we managed to pull it off and it was an amazing evening.”
